I’ve just returned from an unforgettable stay at Jawakara Islands Maldives, and I’m here to share a little of the magic with you.

The Maldives has always held a special place in my heart – it’s one of those destinations that feels almost otherworldly. The endless turquoise lagoons, soft white beaches, and that unmistakable island calm instantly make you slow down and breathe a little deeper. Each resort has its own character, and Jawakara truly stood out for me as a fresh, modern escape that blends barefoot luxury with genuine warmth and thoughtful details. It’s a resort that works beautifully for couples, families, or anyone wanting a complete island experience without losing that sense of peace the Maldives is known for.

The moment I landed in the Maldives, I felt that familiar sigh of relief – like stepping into a place that immediately slows time. My journey included a seaplane ride with Trans Maldivian Airways, and honestly, that flight alone is a highlight of the whole Maldivian experience. Looking out at the endless shades of blue, the scattered islands below, you realise your adventure starts before you even touch the sand.

When I arrived at the resort, I was greeted with warmth and ease. My island host showed me to my villa and handled the check-in seamlessly. I also loved that the resort has a handy app where you can explore the islands, plan activities, and get a feel for the layout even before arriving – it makes everything so simple.

Two Islands, Two Experiences

Jawakara has two very different sides, and each has its own charm.

• Mabin Island is the livelier side, full of restaurants, social spots, and activities. Perfect if you like a bit of buzz.

• Dheru Island is quiet, intimate, and ideal for couples or anyone craving a peaceful escape.

For me, staying on Dheru was bliss. Waking up above the water in my Ocean Pool Villa and stepping straight into the lagoon for a morning snorkel—it’s hard to describe, but it’s pure magic.

The beautiful Mabin beach – snorkelling directly from this beach also allows you a beautiful opportunity to swim alongside sea turtles – which was the best highlight for me.
